Sleepless Horizons      By Sami Khalil

Shuddered in the blazing shards of pleasure, reborn after the inviting fires, remnants of distant silences ended in grey words.

Rivers floated, but in way wards of muddy testaments. The soul of the desert invited remembrances of its eerie shadows by way of awkward rebellions.

In my gentle rest, I pushed away the clouds and rains, after the sighting of many elongated rainbows.

The mist of mornings recovered my sleepless worries from the swooning of last traipsing. Memories swooped me up, beaming with smiles of drifting hearts through placid lakes.

Every pulse of reality held eminence, crossing the theatres of forgotten corners.

Days melted away like soft butter when I beheld treasures of an infinite realm. It was the delicate kiss before sunrise, self-realized.

The cloth of regrets, that dabbed those eyes of sleepless horizons, whitewashed its soft cotton. Time of new harvest is at hand.

The point one realizes where he or she is at in the real world and even after the hard and turbulent past. There he or she analyzes the after math, the daily challenges, the possibilities of future. This is what I may call self realization along with self confidence which is more than needed to look forward beyond every perils, Your writing the hope or help may be at the next door step, let me write until the ink takes away all agonies of world has some similarities to this writing. The striking sentence in this writing after seeing so many big dreams represented as elongated rainbows it is possible for me to face future and harvest it's yields stepping on real ground of after math and truth itself about self realization, Wow ! for this writing

A new year, a new chapter in our lives. On a sleepless night, it's hard to push away those clouds, but it seems in the morning all is well. The sun rises and there is comfort in that. "Days melted away like soft butter"....love that line. Always a pleasure to read you, Sami. Happy New Year. LydI**

If only my sleepless nights (of which I have many) could be spent in such glorious possibilities! So many brilliantly-crafted ideas like this: "I pushed away the clouds and rains, after the sighting of many elongated rainbows." I love the way your verbs are dynamic & your word choices are imagery-packed. I feel all these sensations when insomnia grips me, but I have no words at those times so your words do the trick perfectly! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
