Can march better

With drum-beats!

Rulers can rule

Can rule better

Upon servant seats!

Poets can write

Can write better 

Where passion meets!

Humans can flourish

Can flourish better

Through selfless feats!

I find myself pondering this path that your ideas lead us along. Wow! This is a simple recipe to bring about good change and good outcomes. Going back to the basics sometimes, we need to apply simple rules or common sense things. In this poem, I fathom all of us as soldiers struggling in life and not necessarily talking about war. As soldiers we can be united in the struggle and under same drums or rhyming. For rulers or leaders to rule, they must be in servant seats. I can go on and on about poets and humanity. That will take volumes. Thank you so much beloved poet for all.

The simplicity of the poem and the words used belie the enormity of the wisdom and truths contained within. We all can take a different approach to life and the things we encounter in our journey. Your final three lines are especially significant and something we all must take into consideration in our day to day dealings. Selflessness is an oft forgotten gift, but one that always keeps giving.

A wonderfully thoughtful poem. Wisdom for the masses in straightforward simplicity.
