She chased sunsets through fading hands of
watercolor longings, enscrolled by the advent of moon silhouettes, in copacetic
madness of induced elixir. Unfocused on the infinite, she recovered her
insanity from the quilted agony of moaned muffles. Her suntanned hopes enthralled
the hibernation of moonstruck dreams. Life desires stole her breath away into
ways of surrendering to the prized wings of love. She galloped between the
cracks of dreamy recollections, at the edges of strangled aches. Within her
womb, a thousand galaxies of timeless sobs in an etiolated nostalgia. Light
mizzles steadily gave way to grief, entombing a restless heart. Glorious
indifferences faded into liquid sermons, soothing fears of mayhem control. Her
lashes enslaved tears of unbroken confessions. The indwelling of stars drifted
away like paper confetti, scattered by the winds of change. She was not divided
any more by the dichotomy of senseless games. For a while, her exculpations
resided upon a chest of world eulogies. She felt pity on a love lived in self-loathing,
enclosing yearnings of freedom between the soft chaos of resting within poem of
sun kissed memories, dislodging closeted selves, hidden behind curtains. To
lend a light, she fought the good fight and soared on height. She chased sunsets
through fading hands, lest no one forgets.
Hey Sami this is a stark portrait of depression and the grips that hold those who experience it. That Galloping line is so poignantly familiar a sentiment to my ears. When you see those that seemingly have everything and realize that the everything is truly nothing and that everything is happiness and presence the rest is all just decorations and baubles. A sad story but a pleasant reminder

Quite sad beautiful
And very much Melancholy
in this piece of compassion
And empathy.
It sounds she
was chasing happiness
of the sunrise and sunset
but wasn't succeeding.
Very powerful lines
in this whole piece
but these lines here
pierced my heart.
Her lashes enslaved tears of unbroken confessions. The indwelling of stars drifted away like paper confetti, scattered by the winds of change.

Sunsets and sunrises....so beautiful to watch. Like a miracle every day. I especially like to watch them when we are on a ship on the ocean. "Chasing sunsets".....do people run after conclusions and often they would be better off not doing that. There is a magical quality to your words in this one and the artwork is extraordinary! Lydi**

I took as a metaphor for end of life(the day) or suicide of this very talented artist and designer who struggled with depression albeit all the fame and money and then had marital problems. Her only daughter of 13 had to been distraught for losing her. I had compassion on both. She was a brand and a pioneer in fashion for many women.
Thank you kindly sir Mitchell.
A very moving poem. I think the format lends itself incredibly well to the subject at hand. Very insightful of you.

Finding sunsets is harder than chasing them. The chase suborns the reality, the uncertainty behind the mask of so called success.
'For a while, her exculpations resided upon a chest of world eulogies.' That is the key line for me.

" she galloped between the cracks of dreamy recollections, at the edges of strangled aches..." at times giving up this struggle seems the most peaceful thing to do, but the devastation that silenced soul leaves behind ....it takes generations to calm.Any sudden and unexpected end of life breaks a flood of sorrow, I believe. Dear Sami, this is a beautiful heartfelt tribute to a deserving soul.
