Pastiche And ParodyA Poem by Sami KhalilThe cycles and seasons...Can you imitate Nature or understand the cycles...Pastiche And Parody/…By Sami Khalil Death and rebirth of nature’s own… Let me herald or cast sublime, new beginnings When nature is branded in her refined fashion And no somber faces, sulking, are taken aback Mourning demises that lie in stillness of shrouds Lending miracles, lingering in diaphanous passion.
Let my refuge be anchored in frilled derangements Setting scenes of recalls and gnarled mind-escapes Beseech I to reflect on paths drawn in swirling haze By interlaced summits and lush, felicitous pastures Stippled not by man, but hands of a benign action.
For, slowly they burst Into peals of laughter and abundant life Spring gentle and Summer's insouciance forged Cicatrices weathered and windblown fast.
And, slowly they perish With rictus grins and megrims of death pleas Tatterdemalion of Fall and gelid Winter’s eddies Pastiche and parody of pert notions past.
