Pastiche And Parody

Pastiche And Parody

A Poem by Sami Khalil

The cycles and seasons...Can you imitate Nature or understand the cycles...

"

Pastiche And Parody/By Sami Khalil

Death and rebirth of nature’s own

Let me herald or cast sublime, new beginnings

When nature is branded in her refined fashion

And no somber faces, sulking, are taken aback

Mourning demises that lie in stillness of shrouds

Lending miracles, lingering in diaphanous passion.

Let my refuge be anchored in frilled derangements

Setting scenes of recalls and gnarled mind-escapes

Beseech I to reflect on paths drawn in swirling haze

By interlaced summits and lush, felicitous pastures

Stippled not by man, but hands of a benign action.

For, slowly they burst

Into peals of laughter and abundant life

Spring gentle and Summer's insouciance forged

Cicatrices weathered and windblown fast.

And, slowly they perish

With rictus grins and megrims of death pleas

Tatterdemalion of Fall and gelid Winter’s eddies

Pastiche and parody of pert notions past.

Wow, your words danced around in my head, you have captured the painting with your words and spoke the colors onto computer screen, this is, phenom!

Nature dances...and so do your words. Your choice of vocabulary is, as always, wonderful. A splendiferous poem of nature, my friend. Lydi**

What can I say that has not been said... Had to bust out my dictionary for some of these, which can be difficult to make me do... Noticing an almost liquid flow to your words in this one... Ponderous journeys of splendorous syllable shapes and sounds... I beseech you to to accept stillness... A plea of death, or deaths plea... Penned in a forge of raw heat...

It is nature...so let it dance.
Seasons come and go
with the green and the colors.
Nice work!

Diaphanous passion, felicitous pastures, insouciance forged??? What the hey? I had to get out my dictionary...no I didn't, I lied, but I should.
Felicitous, one can figure out easily enough, but the others, I'm not so sure.
I love the changing of the seasons. They bring such variety into our lives.
What's so amazing to me is, no two years are the same. You know what they say, variety is the spice of life, or, I think that's what they say.
To the point: Loved your work. This one makes your mind work, and that's a good thing.

I love the above lines. A classic feel to the words. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

oooo...i think i'll abide by this poem...in another ten years or so...the only way to survive this world might be to go crazy---retreat into insanity---write ridiculous words that even i have no idea what they mean, or what i mean anymore, for that matter.

Breathtaking painting--an apparent metaphor for the seasons.
A most elegant ode to certain change, welcomed renewal and humble acceptance.
Sublime, gifted poet!
