Love and loss...

A sad one…Love and loss…

And over the semblance of yolks my yearnings kept

Bindings of secrets when my ferried sighs drew near

I named thee Sweet Valentine in loquacious silence

And in the boundless deep I sang of yonder souvenir.

Fainteth not my soul! I must be weary and love-veiled

Thou art my fairy till time henceforth beguiles no more

And scenes laid where sleeping witnesses scorneth death

It shall be fitting in nature’s pride, twain destiny in store.

Exprest this sadness with liberty and nib of a poet’s pen

And eyes bedewed by tearful mourn and pinings repaid

Hail not death! Hail life;though all must justly obeyeth

Fondly I wail heavenward with phrensied woe dismayed.

beautifully said my friend ..its the langauge of love that endures isn't it!? an oh my your poem resurects (my choice) those i loved from afar ..never giving up the dream lest i be forced into vulnerabilities men disdain ;) i love this poem .. to be read over again with care and attention ..and definitely Shakespearean .. especially have to smile at my youthful foolishness in your closing line .. great stuff says i Sami ..a pleasure to read

compassion for another while recognizing the trial and vulnerability of projecting ur personal thoughts about the moments of experience you have during a period of bliss and conviction.

that's what I got out of it, if I had to guess you were in a old English lost time period mood.

I like it.

Darkest reality, bathed in the light, reignites soul-saving hope.
Your poetic insight is profound; life philosophy, Godly.
Work to be admired!

I have read this twice, Sami. I can savour this piece as it offers a double edged sword, keeps me thinking that even in our darkest hours there is hope, there is light.

I read it again, and it is spiritual with hope and magic.

This is emotional.

Sami, this brought tears to the eyes and solace to the heart. Your expression is always wonderfully worded, a softness, even in the darkness you remind us of the light :)

some things in life impact us on levels unimaginable, be it if only for a short time or forevermore. Yearning in our heart can burn to such levels that it consumes us, and the loss of what could've been or what was leaves us weary and mournful. Among the feelings of loss, we should rejoice what was and remember the stolen moments afforded us by fate. This one seems passionately penned with the right amount of sadness and uplifting remembrance. Beautiful as always with your extensive vocabulary and throwback style 😊
