Places..Of The Heart/By Sami Khalil

A sad romance poem.

There lie...Places of the heart

Where orphaned words live domestic lives.

Neither fine fettles nor sacred texts dwell, except in postponed tomorrows.

Chaotic, perhaps, but the fleeting scenes

Are skillfully scripted among desultory

 apprehensions and frailty of echoes.

Intact, perhaps, but enough miswords can carry lovers’ diction down

The road of doltish broken heartedness, providing their own translations.

There lie…places of the heart

Where critics puzzle over the avant-garde of our blueness separations

 and recognitions of cherished memories.

Where strangers sleep through introductions and amble down the river banks of silence.

There, “being” is a mere concept exploring the voiced firsts of exhibits and undulations of images.

There lie…My heart and my fugitive soul

Waiting for you…My love!

Always great to read a poem from someone so talented.

Love is at times hopeless, yet we can't help but hope to be loved by the ones we love.

Love your poem :)

There are these places in us
Which, we try to ignore
But which keep popping up
in out consciousness without invitation

I have left them out
Often
Sometimes
I leave them on river banks
Among smooth and slippery rocks
but they float on whirlpools
and swim back to me...

at times
I have left them
In dried up meadows in deep valleys
But they get hold of
Some stray sheep's fleece
And come back to me
Like recurring winters

I have even tried
To leave these parts
Enclosed in a book
But they stop living in words
And become sound
Rising like an epiphany
Filling up the space
And hugging me once more
like a summer evening

i am learning
to live
with all these unwanted parts
may be
someday
someone will walk in
and touch them in such a way
that they will bloom
and fill every available place
with the new fragrance

You begin with sense a of hopelessness
and slowly lead us along a map of
words of magical imagery along by a
river bank and into Hope.

I missed your work most when I am not here.
I am here for today so I don't want to miss anything that comes from you.
Like always, your words left the reader without words :)

I was thrilled to see a picture of Frida Kahlo included in this. I'm a big fan of her work.

This is a very nice work for me to read upon my return to this site (once again).

You are where your heart is an old saying but is relevant and can easily connect to this poem. There are lots of time the real feelings are watered down may be for sake of day to day survival or whatever the reasons are. The broken hearts still keeps the memories even cherish them way past the end of relationships. In some situations one may not be in the particular relation and not even in the heart but the other one keep the images as daily visitors in their heart. A great theme and perspective is in the poem, great job

Beautiful Sami, poignant. Love is worth waiting for, orphaned words lead domestic lives , what a telling line.
