Luna

Luna

A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

Speaking of romance...The Moon is that silent sailor...

"

Luna………………By Sami Khalil

Speaking of romance…

The Poem:

Speaking of…

That silent sailor

Sailing upon dark notes

Owing its debt to the sun

Beaming in complexions of castaways

Slitting darkness till the last border lines

When the serene wheels of dawn prayers turn.

Speaking of…

The only progeny

To the first virgin mother

Land of eventual wanderings

Fusing waves of textured people

To colors of clay and clod belongings

Where anthems translate patois of flooded stragglers.

Speaking of…

This petticoat companion

That night ferry in the inky sky

Languishing in cardered memories

Of travelers clad in restive seasons

Under the silvery shafts of starry lights

Where the ticking clock on the horizon kindles images.

Speaking of…

Those who are cleaved between the heart and the moon.

This is exquisite. The gentleness of tone and the way the words flow have a timeless, classic feel. This could have been written two hundred years ago by one of the great English Romantics. The last full stanza in particular is absolutely stand out in my opinion.

Beccy.

i cant really say i have any skills that at any time encouraged more than people i know. but i wonder who has more influence the one that catches the eye of the speaker or the speaker who has caught the eye of everyone else.

There is nothing here that is less than whole, the envy of poets, timeless and majestic. Each perfect verse building upon & mirroring its neighbour in form and flow. I am proud to be reviewer 126 although I have no doubt there will be many more. Bravo Sami........AGT's Neville

The poem that paints the existing relation between a heart and a moon.

like your all other poems it is very beautiful. Its written beautifully.

The way you describe the existing strong relation between heart and moon which can not be understood by anyone except a lover is so deep that I read the poem with my legs hugging my chest ad my lips were curved to blush and smile.
The way you mentioned how affection can make the people unite in second stanza is amazing.
The way you have given emotions and feelings to moon in third stanza that how it travels in the whole sky and also the way you have written in hidden words about the rotation of earth around the sun and the passing of time is worthy to praise.

The whole poem is very beautifully written.

Thanks for sharing.

Here, Here! This IS an exceptional write Sami. What imagery and mystic feelings you weave through your reader's mind. Love these lines (That night ferry in the inky sky Languishing in cardered memories Of travelers clad in restive seasons Under the silvery shafts of starry lights) In my humble opinion this IS poetry! ~Sharon

Probably the richest piece I've read for you. You had three main stanzas, and with each one you've shone some light on each particular topic: religion, with the mention of the dawn prayer, and the virgin. You've created this whimsical relevancy between the night and made the moon the star. You've approached the topic from a practical and spiritual perspective rather than from a passionate one, and that's pure geneous!
