Legacy/…………………By sami Khalil

(leave a legacy of life and transcend death)

The poem:

Time moves in tireless steps,

In sequels of eulogy, faceless,

As it chases the reign of kings and queens.

You become what you believe…in its chasms.

For to each, their own answers;

Changing old ways, birthing new ones,

Where fate is the auctioneer

And you are the bidders and plaudits,

Collating your destiny.

To each, their praises and broken hearts,

In the art of acceptances and rejections;

Tokens of our surrendering.

To each, their imaginings and befalling’s,

Swords and shields, as they lurk in figurative

Speech and reality, perusing life and death.

To each, those mummies of the past

And museums of the future,

For there is a magic behind every mystery

And legacy, leaning on the shoulders

Of darkness and the shadows of hope,

Until the time and place of awakening.

For upon an awakening, things transcend

The everlasting emptiness, scanning the mechanics

Of nothingness, stretching visions into idealistic shuffles.

And the more we gaze, the more they do reveal.

To each, are shapes of butterflies and clouds?

In the thresholds of remembrances.

Softly, they call…The infants of poetry and thinkers!

A Thousand Sigh…

My brother & dear friend, Sami, Sometimes I think your mind always transcends every time you penned a piece such as this one. I could say that it taken me a long time to finally put words upon reading this few many times every time I came to visit your words in your poetry.

This piece leads me to think that our written words are our legacy… it’s our creation, devotion to the language of the heart & mind – and most specially the soul. On our writes we transcend from mind to mind of the other person to person as it rooted to their mind unto the other, as if like a chain of events to be remember as ‘US’, spreading our words like rapid fire for the world to envision what we see within us and what we observe, read, heard & experienced about life. A philosophy that is rooted deep and grows in blooms beautifully in the minds who have touch by its beauty and thinking grace…

“the more we gaze, the more they do reveal”

That’s what poetry is, written to read many times as our imagination stretches into wider scale to see the depths of the soul its representing… like how we imagine the star, how it gleams our hope into unimaginable depths of the universe, like we transcends beyond the human mind capabilities…

Sigh… brother, you did it, I feel like I lost myself into thinking more, than what it already is…
Excellent!

It is not granted to many to leave such a legacy. But memories, like the written word, linger and all of us live on through family, friends, the way we led our life. 'Fate, the auctioneer,' I love that.

Beccy.
