Legacy/…………………By sami Khalil

(leave a legacy of life and transcend death)

The poem:

Time moves in tireless steps,

In sequels of eulogy, faceless,

As it chases the reign of kings and queens.

You become what you believe…in its chasms.

For to each, their own answers;

Changing old ways, birthing new ones,

Where fate is the auctioneer

And you are the bidders and plaudits,

Collating your destiny.

To each, their praises and broken hearts,

In the art of acceptances and rejections;

Tokens of our surrendering.

To each, their imaginings and befalling’s,

Swords and shields, as they lurk in figurative

Speech and reality, perusing life and death.

To each, those mummies of the past

And museums of the future,

For there is a magic behind every mystery

And legacy, leaning on the shoulders

Of darkness and the shadows of hope,

Until the time and place of awakening.

For upon an awakening, things transcend

The everlasting emptiness, scanning the mechanics

Of nothingness, stretching visions into idealistic shuffles.

And the more we gaze, the more they do reveal.

To each, are shapes of butterflies and clouds?

In the thresholds of remembrances.

Softly, they call…The infants of poetry and thinkers!

A Thousand Sigh…

My brother & dear friend, Sami, Sometimes I think your mind always transcends every time you penned a piece such as this one. I could say that it taken me a long time to finally put words upon reading this few many times every time I came to visit your words in your poetry.

This piece leads me to think that our written words are our legacy… it’s our creation, devotion to the language of the heart & mind – and most specially the soul. On our writes we transcend from mind to mind of the other person to person as it rooted to their mind unto the other, as if like a chain of events to be remember as ‘US’, spreading our words like rapid fire for the world to envision what we see within us and what we observe, read, heard & experienced about life. A philosophy that is rooted deep and grows in blooms beautifully in the minds who have touch by its beauty and thinking grace…

“the more we gaze, the more they do reveal”

That’s what poetry is, written to read many times as our imagination stretches into wider scale to see the depths of the soul its representing… like how we imagine the star, how it gleams our hope into unimaginable depths of the universe, like we transcends beyond the human mind capabilities…

Sigh… brother, you did it, I feel like I lost myself into thinking more, than what it already is…
Excellent!

Ok confession... I stopped by to trade views. But Geez I read this like several times.
But I remembered now I had to much to say about it and left it till later.
I guess I'd better do it now and make it short and sweet, best I can.

I can't do it Sami... It still makes me cry.. There is so so so much in this write...
Every line is packed with unshakeable truths and depthness.
One could write a book for a reply.
Just know that it is one you hang in a frame and read all the days of your life and it would never lose it's meaning or grow weak of inspiration or learning.

And it is all said so Beautifully. If there are Angels then this is what they would of said.

Intriguing and thought provoking... but the line : leaning on the shoulders of darkness and shadows of hope... does not make sense to me, especially when awakening always has the rays of light or a light of hope... otherwise you have well written ideas here. Great write.

The more we seek the more we find and the more we understand about ourselves and what makes who we are.. each of us a little miracle with its own identity and soul..we each have the inherent gift to find our path and follow it in the search for the truths that we know are the answers to our questions..

The road we travel upon stretches before us under both sun and shadow, with both chasms and summits hidden there along the journey. Your words capture that truth, and the struggle to make the journey meaningful.

Wow. Thank you so much Sasha for the lovely review and visit. All appreciated...:).......
Sami, I just love visiting you.
Your words always reach so deep.
The word legacy... It's not a big word but it has such big meaning.
What we do, how we treat Mother Earth, our friends and family, everything we touch.
Let our legacy be leaving this world a better place, let's promote awareness and inspire change, let's respect and love one another, let's support and encourage each other, let's live and break down prejudice and offer guidance to those who hate. I could keep going but I'm afraid then it'll become a rant. :D
Well done.

So much truth in the words "you become what you believe". As always, your words bring to light such honesty and raw emotion, with visualization that is astounding. Your wisdom shines throughout this piece. Great job, dear poet.
