Ashen...By Sami Khalil

Healing the bruising...

The Poem:

I planted you,

In the legacy of bruised skies,

In the further callings of noted flowers as colors escape orphanages

And yield to the roots of spring conscience.

I planted you,

Naked with bed full apologies,

Of ceaseless moons with pity on prisoners, who survive daily devotions, wearing the shadows of absence.

I planted you,

In the rebirth of wilted petals,

Who survive in distant valleys, attached to indecision of the hearts,

Footsteps away from light in the broad fields of death.

I planted you,

In my intimate words of wedded vocabulary,

Around soft edges of intuitions where our critics below are confused,

Spinning in a state of head spin.

I planted you,

In the misreading of ashen rituals,

As white temples, churches and mosques stand as living archives to almost divinity, in unison of a lost sermon.

i feel bad for the ones not realizing the metaphoric fork in the road. whoever says better things than the truth is always the most dangerous. the fact shes able to live at all in the dystopian present is always the most impactful. im curious about the one causing the circumstances... its like you took on the persona with the picture choice. a well themed work. i hope im not way off here.

'Ashen'
Sami,
Found myself studying at length the painting with a young lady sleeping on a beach, turtle looking on as she sleeps. A hat to protect her hair hair and skin, then what really caught me was the shells as if these were gifts to her heart, wishes. The title is telling I suppose. This poem reads to me as how humanity searches for meaning. Just as the shells they are winsome and lovely but inanimate but they are a keepsake of a special occasion. so our lives full of hits and misses, trial and error. The sweetness is in the effort, the search for meaning.

THIS most be my most favorite from You! how divinely You've painted Love... in it's ultimate, timeless shape and existence, Your poem has this feeling which the classical poems have, and add more alluring power to it, it feels timeless, Your language feels timeless, it's like it was there in those ancient times, and it's here now, I adore this masterpiece! Thank You dear Sami*
