Deadly words of love

Deadly Words /......... by Sami Khalil

...................................................................

( A sort of contemplations on love )

At last, I leave it to our fate finding what is in store

for us, for I have given up on the world but not on you,

where I can feel the desire in your voice and the resistance

in your heart.

I don’t need much talent to tell you:"I love you",

I need more courage and self-esteem.

Then, if you feel my words are out of place,

do know that my feelings are in the right one

for so many words are profoundly deadly, but the words

of love, they give life to the dead.

And as delicate as you are in the wind,

you are the strength in my heart and the compass

to my lonely flight.

Knowing that everything has many impacts,

I attest that the impact of love is either death or bliss.

So please, let all stars collide tonight sparing my light, of love

reaching out to touch me before I melt into those eyes.

Embrace me either way,

for as love embraces us in his arms,

we embrace love in our acceptance.

I would rather lose all lonely nights and not

a single dream of you.

It strikes me how you compete with nature,

always winning  in the end.

And it strikes the world how,

releasing my pain, it makes me win and gain.

Oh, beloved, between the ocean and I,

between a sunset dressed in amber,

and a night dressed in dreams, I feel the fire and thirst.

For neither the ocean nor the nights can quench

a thirst or a fire, but you.

And if fire awakens darkened souls,

your love awakens sleepy hearts.

A great piece of poetry Sami. Your style is really cool. I love the way you have expressed that basically, without love, there is nothing else worthwhile, that it is all-consuming and powerful and towers over everything else.
Great work Sami, again. :-)

Very lovely contemplation, observation and narrative. You have used beautiful words to couch your expression, and those words really evoke a wonderful meld of spirit and Nature.

Nature & love are intrinsically linked in my opinion and you highlight this point of view so well with this emotive poem.

Another superlative write once more !

"Embrace me either way,

Those words are really fascinating. With love, no sunset, no ocean, no thirst can be such impediment for what you really feel. But forgive me if I have to say this, my friend... Love can be deadly if it turns into obsession.

Nice reflection about love.

From the second stanza onwards , where you said

'I don’t need much talent to tell you; "I love you", I need more courage and self-esteem. '

I knew it... this would be a very mushyy mushy romantic poem.. And yesh, I am correct.. :)

'I would rather lose all lonely nights but not a single dream of you.
It strikes me how you compete with nature but you always win in the end.'

It strikes ME how your poems with so much Imagination compete with nature... but YOU always win in the end :) :)

Hi Sami,

This is a great write! You know I love the way you write and the pictures you can paint with your writing. Then, as always, you have the bonus of your lovely artwork, amazing. I loved it.

"For words aren't deadly enough are they! They ought to have a neutralizing effect to connect the dots on which and where they will fall. For what the words mean to the heart the soul agree to it. They can vary at a whim's notice but know that even those words we speak of aren't always there the actionable action is one too hard to even miss because the notion of an action over the spoken word could lead down to either walking away or mutual understanding."

I thought of those words you spoke of were the opposite but one learn they can also mean what they already meant as those words can make the strongest of men and the most beautiful of women fall on their knees when they really invoke those words sincerely. Have a good day my friend :)
