5. A special vaseA Chapter by Sami Liam5. A special vase I sat on my bed with my laptop on my crossed legs. I was searching through my Romeo stories, and stumbled upon a story from last year. It was one of my first Romeo writings that I've created. Last night I met up with the mysterious boy again. He never told me his name, instead, he gave me a rose, a beautiful white rose. We talked for hours, his marvelous green eyes gazing deeply into my brown eyes. Through those hours of conversation, I still did not catch his name. I wonder how he can do that, make a girl forget to ask his name. I caught myself humming when he left. As a terrible singer I am I don't usually hum. He made me so love-struck that he left me humming. I laughed at this thought. I stopped reading, and looked at the rest of the stories. The first seven I called Romeo "the mysterious boy", and the last eighteen I've been calling him "My Romeo" ever since he called me "My Juliet" before he left my room. I've also realized that in the story I would keep all of his roses in a special vase in my mother's garden. There should be twenty. I counted carefully, and realized there should be twenty-three roses. I gulped thinking about this. If Romeo is real, then I should have all twenty-three roses, right? I crawled out of my bed, and sneaked to Mom's garden. I placed the vase behind Mom's rosebush, and there it was. The crystal blue vase filled with roses. I sat on the ground and counted them all. I counted twenty-four, and I froze. Did I miss one? Was there one last story where he gave me a rose? Then I remembered the day I met him in school. He gave me a rose when we were in the hallway. But how could that rose end up here? My mind swirled, unable to figure this out. How did that rose end up here? I don't remember putting it here. I must have counted the stories wrong. There must of been a mistake! Romeo... Are you real? How... I can't process my thoughts right. Why can't I just wake up already from this stupid dream! This is not real, these roses should not be here! Romeo is a fictional boy. I'm just dreaming. This is all a dream. This is all... a... dream... I woke up in my room, and saw the light seeping through my curtains. I looked at the clock and it read 12:34 pm. I groaned and climbed out of bed, going to the bathroom. My head ached as I brushed my teeth. Mom was not home, nor Dad. Isa was at a sleepover. I smiled at the thought of the house to myself, but what would I do? Bring Romeo over? I froze at the thought. My head pounded more, and I groaned. Crap, now he's giving me headaches. The phone rang, and I went to pick it up. "Hello?" I answered as I went to the kitchen. "Hey Juliet! What's up?" It was Linda. I've forgotten about her ever since the lunchroom incident. "Hey Linda. Uh, nothing. I just woke up." I opened the fridge looking for anything good to eat. "Surprised you're not with Romeo." she mumbled. "What?" "Nothing. So, want to hang?" Linda sounded as if she forced the happiness out of her. I sighed, "Sorry can't. I have plans today." It wasn't a lie. I promised Mason I would go to his house and help him rehearse his lines. "Whatever. See ya, bye." I hung up and placed the phone on the counter. I sighed unable to find something good to eat. I closed the fridge and got aspirin for my killing headache, ready to take on the day. © 2011 Sami LiamReviews
