Ode to a Friend

Ode to a Friend

A Poem by Samantha Lynn

You remind me of flowers in a meadow,

colors intertwine within each other against the starch soil.

Here there is no road I know

of, nor is there a single dirt path found by the repetitive walks of other humans.

When the sun shines down upon you,

the warmth of those rays reach down into your solid core.

Those rays reach past the color, past the pollen, through and through

over to the other side of this field.

The warm sun casts shadows

as the sun crosses the sky to the other half of the world.

The shadows the trees emit, dance together with the suns afterglow.

They twirl around in circles together forever through the night.

Amazing poetry dear Samantha.

The above lines were my favorite. Good places are needed in the mind and the heart to keep us content. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
