Unheard Compliments

Unheard Compliments

A Poem by Samantha Lynn
"

I may or may not change the name but this will do for now. lol Enjoy!

"
I guess you could say that I don't take compliments well.
Someone could mention how they like my shirt
or compliment how my eyes see to math the colors of the deepest forests
or crave the touch of my sun-kissed, tan skin
and I wouldn't believe a single word said.
And that is because I don't get compliments.
I can go months at a time without them
and then someone says something,
something so minuscule in meaning,
and I will act as if they had said nothing
because it is hard to believe what a person tells you
when you have never heard those words before at all.

Kind words and compliments are needed. Even small ones. I like the reason for the poem. We are moving too fast. No-one has time to talk anymore. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Simple and sweet. Good word choice, and over a ll a very nice little poem.
