Sleepless Nights

Sleepless Nights

A Poem by Samantha Lynn
"

I wrote this last night apparently. It was a bad night, I must say. I will probably rewrite it but enjoy my troubles in the meantime. lol :)

"

I am tired of eating.

The consistency of constantly counting calories is tiring.

1000 is my limit.

never over.

always under,

way under.

Like the calories are the milligrams of medicine for the worst of my insomnia.

Too much would be an overdose I cannot afford.

less is better.

Less equals no overdosing.

It means that I won't die.

I am as healthy as can be.

Why can't anyone see that I am healthy?

A interesting poem. Sometime we must listen to other and also pay attention to what we need and feel. I dislike any type of medicine. The doctors do scare me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts in the excellent poetry.

Very thought provoking piece. I love the metaphor that calories are the milligrams of medicine. Great job.
