Get me Dry

Get me Dry

A Poem by Samantha Lynn
"

I went to write and this came out. I don't know what it means about me or what it doesn't mean but I would love for you all to help me decipher this. :)

"

There is a sadness that fills the entirety that is my body and mind,

and I just don’t know what to do with this filling pain.

It is clouding my judgments,

a thunderstorm that blocks the light connecting the source from the destination.

I don’t know what to do about this, you know?

The rain never leaves,

and I am wet from head to toe with the depths of my mind.

Black skies.

Dark thoughts.

The constant pitter-patter against the top of my head is starting to hurt,

and I can only seem to think of one way to get dry.

It is a sad poem. Many reasons to write a sad poem. Hearing of a bad incident or bad memory appear. I like the yearning in the poem to forget and leave the sadness behind. The good description gave life and purpose to the excellent poetry.

Sometimes when we keep our feelings inside, the storms just keep coming, keeping us locked into that rainy view, I think this is a good release to clear the weather, a start anyway, nicely pen'd.

Love the rhyme scheme, it is incredibly unique. The emotions are powerful yet subtly expressed. Best piece I've read in a long time. Well written.
