Satire mini-essay

A Story by Samantha Lynn

For many years, people have debated about the health effect of loud music to young people ears. Many people have experimented and proved that the playing of music at such a loud volume is very harmful to ones ears, and will eventually make one go deaf in the ears if it is continued for a certain amount of time.

What people have not noticed about this situation is that the problem is not with the person, but more with the source of the music itself. Yes, loud music is affecting peoples hearing, but is that the music’s fault? No, because the person controls the volume right? The problem then resorts to the source of the music, the speaker if you will.

We must then address the issue of the person playing the music because some people are more stubborn that others and we all know that some people would not listen to the simple task of just turning the music down a little. Some people like their music like that and then there are some people that play it that loud because they are already heard of hearing in the first place.

This all brings me to my conclusion. There is such a simple solution to this problem that people simply overlook it. We should just simply place music chips inside our heads. We can make it so it is like an IPod in our heads. We can update it, change music, and add music. The volume issue then doesn’t become a problem because the music is then not being played through the ears, but instead through the mind.
