In my mind...

In my mind...

A Poem by Sameeksha Vadisherla
"

we suffer more in imagination than in reality.

"

Lost in a maze,

roses appear as thorns in my first gaze.

on their petals, my fingers graze,

no splinters rise; what a surprise!

was it all in my head? I thought,

the wind blew in my hair, a gentle praise.

Walking through the tunnel,

I do not see an end,

is what I comprehend.

I walk, walk, and walk,

only to find myself in a garden.

Mad hatter awaits me there.

He says, "Beautiful, beautiful garden,

calm your mind, it's not a den.''

In the garden, among the floral scents,

I found my peace.

Pulled down the curtains in my mind,

tired of the fabric of thought;

all the knitted tales went in vain, for good.

our imaginations can really run wild.....when I daydream (a lot) it usually happens that crazy thoughts come to mind, then i snap out of it into reality...sometimes imaginations are exhausting because they take up a lot of our energy... so, it's nice to come back to reality and relax..." all the knitted tales went in vain for good", i guess if you are in a maze, roses can feel like thorns, at once they feel like silk.

Our imagination is really wild. Sometimes it's garden and at times puzzles of life. You really portrait a classic example here especially in the last para of the poem.

In the garden, among the floral scents,
I found my peace.
Pulled down the curtains in my mind,
tired of the fabric of thought;
all the knitted tales went in vain, for good.

Yes, the weekend is so far so good and hot as well ☀️
Absolutely the lines which made you to write this poem is right and you have seen the other side pf coin. But when you similarly imagine good and enjoy the fantasies which you cant even perseive in realm like Alice in wonderland, rudyard has created imagine so great that it turned out to be beautiful book. Also this creation is a beautiful imagination for creating beautiful world. I still dont understand why roses have thorns maybe only a lesson to teach that beautiful and sensitive petals are to be protected who try to pluck them. I think they are beautiful like you who is good at the same time.

Continue writing.

The garden is the peace that a person creates in spite of self - for self. It mirrors emotions and often personality: adding either a touch or wilderness or neatness like no other! Your words are you, Sameeksha and true as truth can be. May friend, thank you for sharing.

The mind can lead us to all directions when in thought or deep imaginations.
I enjoyed reading this poem, it reminds us (readers) to find peace in whatever feels calming for eg, the garden you refer is what sets that mood.

The imagery of roses appearing as thorns, the feeling of the wind blowing in their hair, and the scent of floral scents in the garden all evoke a sense of sensory experience for us (readers).

Very powerful write,

Wow! What a fantastic analogy to roses perceived as thorns! Truly, you need to run your hands over them to appreciate their softness and scent, sometimes. So true, dear Sameeksha, we torture ourselves so much. We doubt, we suspect and we mistrust even a perfectly beautiful gift. We look for the thorns all the time!

I also loved the fabric of thoughts that you beautifully used to create a complex weaving of negative thoughts, of knitting tales never close to reality. In the process, tiring, exhausting and distressing ourselves.

You've done such a great job of making your point with awesome examples here, my friend. Kudos to you! Keep writing.

I'm liking the elements you have used in your poems making up a imagery of a beautiful dream that you keep walking into but find no end until you bring yourselves to reality, sliding the curtains aside, your sense of wordplay often captures my heart, the closing lines are beautiful, the poet finding her solace, resting her thoughts and imagination for a while. I suppose imagination can break our boundaries but often it hangs us on a loop, it keeps on going I think with everything we witness and believe, it starts making stages burning our neurons lol. But a source they are nonetheless, I'm loving this taste of reality and it's brought up beautifully in your poem. Loved reading this a lot Sameeksha!

Sameeksha, you have written a tome in your words. a story of how and where to go on a personal journey.

'In the garden, among the floral scents,
I found my peace.
Pulled down the curtains in my mind,
tired of the fabric of thought;
all the knitted tales went in vain, for good.'

How beautiful it can be. A garden might have weeds, thorns, failure but if one learns the rules on how to.. a garden of plants is/can be a remedy for virtually anything. Hours in a garden is a life saver, a rescuer, a lover - and more. Your poem is both a friend and town crier who can truly teach those waiting a 'how to live and love' : read the poem written by Sameeksha. Many, many thanks
