I still remember

I still remember

A Poem by Sameeksha Vadisherla
"

:)

"
I still remember,
when he took away my agonies with a simple smile.
I still remember,
when he said ''I first saw you walking through the aisle.''

I remember when he held his hand out to mine,
A gesture that sent a chill down my spine.
Now, I close my eyes just to picture him,
Black & white, I'm lost in a film.

I remember when he made life seem like a fairytale,
Never knew memories would go this pale.
When his touch ignited a spark,
It left an invisible mark.

I remember his warm embrace,
felt like a touch of grace.
The moments we once cherished,
along with you, they have perished.

Such a sad yet captivating write, dear Sameeksha. The first glance is always magic, followed by the blooming of love and then its fading. In every verse, the love, loss and longing can be deeply felt. I especially like your reference to what was perhaps once a colorful scape becoming a black and white film. They are so reminiscent of a once vibrant past. The last line completes the picture of heartbreak. There seems no hope of revival and all has perished. I just hope, love blossoms again for them. Beautifully written, my friend.

Oh dang, a very powerful yet touching poem.
I felt the emotions so very raw, and all the pains that linger within.
Not all memories are good when it comes to heartbreak but that's why we call them memories..
Greatly inked...

Ouch... feel this one... they never quite leave us, do they? Time helps, I find... though we never entirely forget. Cheers

Of course, friend!
Memories are not always pleasant…. One moment “a simple smile”, another moment “black and white, I’m lost in a film”……. You show us that there are sweet times and sad times……the cherished memories can fade through time…you express this beautifully…..
Warmly, B

Certainly a sad tone in this poem. Losing someone close to us is inevitable at some stages of life but the pain it leaves us in never really diminishes over time.

Someone that once was closer to our heart than any other just suddenly vanishes and never to be around for us again. It is then when our memories become our most potent ally. Remembering all they were gets us through our grief and makes us thankful for what was once shared.

You convey the sense of loss very well in your lines and allow your emotion to dictate the flow of your words. Well expressed.

I read this as a remarkably lovely love poem. And yet it is much more. It encompasses so many other feelings as well. Excellent piece.

Such a fine collection of memories set with loving care. Sad, yes. I know after your latest review for me, that you genuinely and sincerely understand how it is. Memories make up a coverlet of unforgettable times - as you obviously know. To only remember the sadness of loss of those touches felt, makes for a deletion of the precious times when laughs, happiness and time were shared. The reality of what was should and can't be forgotten. Bless your foreverness wrapped but free with your darling.

Such a deep sense of loss felt in this beautiful poem. I do hope the poet is able to to find some comfort in those wonderful moments shared, if this is her own experience. A lovely write, touched me it did Sameeksha , albeit sorrowful.

Such an aching poem as it enlivens the agony of the love that once used to be, the kind of mark that bond leaves is ever unforgettable and I believe this is how it escapes out of us, in poems, with its agonising rhymes in symphony with our griefs, beautiful work on this poem Sameeksha, I was drawn to it till the end with its lines overlapping my heart, the well maintained rhymes and fluid flow of the melancholic idea. Such a beautiful read!
