Solace

I talk to my lilies

they know the thorns I had planted at my own will.

sharp reminders of my bitter choices

My only true friend,

she goes out of her ways

just to wipe my tears with her tender silk petals,

keeping me aware of her soft embrace

Consoling me, she whispers,

''you think too much, my dear; there is nothing you lack''

I picture lilies as friends...we all deserve a friend such as that lily that spoke to you and consoled you. We're so foolish to plant thorns in our lives instead of cultivating lilies.
