Ravaged

Ravaged

A Poem by Sameeksha Vadisherla

She sits in the corner of the class,
resting her chin on her palm,
as she remains motionless and calm.
portrays a different kind of diligence,
a glory glistens in her brown orbs.

She steps out when the night is quiet
sobs as she poses questions to the night sky.
darkness is her sole companion.
unable to make up her mind,
since this world is a strange hallucination.

What was once so appealing and had eyes of innocence,
is now red, swollen and hints of agony.
what was once a sweet melody,
is now a disturbing gossip.
how long does it take to destroy your old self?

Dear Sameeksha, some thoughts have occurred which have had a profound change to the way the speaker is viewing life. There is a darkness here, a lack of light and the speaker is alone to ponder further. I get the feeling of unhappiness Thank you for posting.

Powerful and strong thoughts written dear poet. Our eyes, can see the real world. We lose the innocence of our youth. A lot said in so few words. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Thank you so much, sir for your kind words. I appreciate your feedback.
There is absolute tragedy here. So wish I could pick up the words and hold them tight, play heaven to their meaning, release their screams. Your poem is raw and bitterly sad, truth in its being - fact too clear. I will thank you for sharing this beautiful sadness but wish with all my heart that it hadn't needed to be written. People are so loth to express what and how life deals it poison..

Your articulation of the character and her emotions are so transparent they penetrate through the heart as I look through these lines, the agony of a lonely heart and how it laments for the lost pieces of her heart has left me dumbfounded, I also love how you open up the night sky and the imagery of her casually sitting and the depth of her brown eyes, they are all so beautiful. With love ❤️

A soul doesn't get the peace that it deserves. Your wording and the build-up of emotions convey the mismatched returns of life so well. A very poignant yet beautiful write!

Most Welcome Friend
Something very unjust was done to disillusion a pure and innocent soul. We all begin life on a sweet note and get hurt along the way. That's just how life is. Something always happens, someone always comes along to spoil the bliss, disturb the dream. You struck a great chord here, dear Sameeksha. Now its up to her to wipe away her tears and stand strong. A new self will emerge from the destroyed old self. Not so vulnerable anymore. Keep inspiring us with such poetry.

A very unhappy, perhaps confused or frustrated person… who longs to get out of a trap; her milieu seems to be the night, when she begs for solace from the cosmos….she seems to be self effacing…always testing her thoughts with this that will listen……she lobs for this sweet melodies of yesteryear…..well written
