IN THE FINICKY LIGHT

IN THE FINICKY LIGHT

A Poem by Salvatore Buttaci
"

A summer scene chances are we won't get to see or understand.

"

in the finicky light of a so-so afternoon

a rabble of cream butterflies

and a squadron of dark gnats,

cross-flying in one another's air space,

salt-and-pepper

the straw head

of a sleeping garden scarecrow.

Has a very haiku-like feel to it. A tightly crafted image; a very nice little snapshot.
