The first snow...

The first snow...

A Poem by samaveiled

Today,

I am a little more alive. You see, I was alone last night. The moon was full,

and all of my edges were sharper. I was centered.

Balanced.

Something had shifted,

within the eaves of my soul.

Something that had been out of place, was now

*fixed*

My universe is back in focus.

Every melody is an anthem.

Every sip is sweeter.

I have been cleansed.

Am safe now.

Pulling my circle closly around myself.

Close to myself...

So,

The edge of my circle now,

is my skin.

The edge of my circle is my skin?!

Dear god. Thank you.

Al Humdulilah.

This means...the shadow on the edge of my circle...

Whose face I could never see.

I can see.

With my trees tall around me. The first pure, snow cloaking the leaves and the ground, I grasp the hand being held out to me. My body and soul breath relief into the embrace Ive been pulled to. Barefoot. In his arms. While the snow falls, flakes catching in my hair to hang like stars, Ive never been warmer. In my woods. Home.

Prayers of thanks trace my cheeks. Falling to bless the earth...
