Argumentative EssayA Story by SamanthaTeenagers are always talking, about falling in love, but they are far too young to know what love really is. What are your views? This is the question to one of the essay that i'm suppose to do.ReviewWhat is the meaning of love? For what I have gathered from
various sources “Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal
attachment.” I strongly think that teenagers are not too young to know what
love is because we can grow attached to many things. When we are babies, we
grow attached to our play friends, a bear, car, doll, action figure, other
babies and even our parents. We start to age into a child; we grew out our
attachment of our play friends and turn our affection to our friends, pets, and
some special items of our baby hood. When we are becoming teenagers, again our ‘love’ for something
changes. Our family, personal objects and even people we are very close with,
teenagers have already grown to know and experience many things. They have already
contacted with lots of people, some as good friends, and some as acquaintance. Love is now considered a subjective matter; we can see children
proclaiming love at the age of 9 and after a few years, marrying each other.
Many examples are the older generation, who some married at the age of 13!
Sometimes, we can see people who are 50, 60 years old and never even wear an
engagement ring. In my view, love is understood by different people, different
age and even different races. Teenagers are trying to make a place in society.
They are pressured on different means, their test scores, and social life and
now they are aware of the peer pressure. Many teenagers are doing actions against their parents, thus shifting their ‘love’ of their parents to their peers, social life have already limiting their ‘area’ to give love to people. Normally they would ‘transfer’ their ‘love’ to people who is considered as ‘acceptable’, ‘exciting’, or who is ‘against’ or ‘opposite’ to them, this is due to lack of communication between the two different points view of teenagers and adults. Teenagers are struggling in the world, as adults are trying to protect them, but rarely adults, as like parents are not able to understand of the teenagers feelings. Teenagers are not looking for protection; they are looking for their self-satisfaction, this is normally not acceptable by parents who would do drastic measurement to stop them ‘for their own good’ is normally heard from parents by teenagers. Teenagers that time will
take ‘Love’ as another meaning and begin to understand, some teenagers never
find a problem in communicating with their parents. Many a time, teenagers
interpret ‘love’ wrongly, but they are slowly learning and adapting to
understand the meaning of love, in their own special way. Teenagers are always
talking, writing and singing about love because they are learning, from songs,
writing and even different resources like Manga (Japanese/Korean Comic), Man
Hua (Chinese Comic), Movies, Dramas, weirdly some from parents. Many of them already
understand the meaning of love. We can see the evidence by seeing them, dating,
have more affectionate action to the person that they are attracted. Teenagers
are not too young to know, they understand this meaning during this time, and
this is the perfect time for them to know the meaning of love. I strongly believe that
there is no age difference in understanding love, and teenagers are not too
young to understand the meaning of love. They might have different
understanding of love, but they would change, experience and think of their
understanding of love. © 2011 SamanthaAuthor's Note
