Heartbreak as a sound

This poem describes an infamous emotion , heartbreak , as a sound.

Heartbreak as a sound 

Heartbreak is a funny thing ,  but laughter isn't heard

They say that its nothing , but I know it hurts. 

Its like a million feelings , a million sounds , a million emotions 

Yet your brain is numb.

No matter how hard you try to fight it , it stays there without a cause 

It sounds like a tire screeching on the ground

It sounds so  unfamiliar 

And yet you feel like you belong.

It sounds like the clouds on a rainy day ,

waiting to burst while the thunder awaits.

It sounds like the sea waves before a fatal death , 

Will the ship float or not? It couldn't be said.

It sounds like what solitude must feel like , 

You are surrounded by people , yet you are not free to pry.

You want to say so much . but don't know where to begin

When given an option , you cry and cry until the break of day.

You remember all the incidents of the past 

You forget what the future holds.

You think about when you thought it would last forever 

And suddenly its no more.

The feeling is mutual , but you think its only you.

You hate yourself for stuff you haven't done , and overlook the truth.

You think of why things happened , why it had to be this way

"Could we just get back together?" you ask yourself , but hold back because you're too afraid.

All in all , heartbreak , 

Is difficult to describe.

Will they reunite together?

Or grow apart with time.
