What if?

What if?

A Poem by Jacob Malone
"

This is a piece I did for school.

"

What if the world wasn’t real, it

Had too much chaos to understand

Everyone living like hell wasn’t here

Steps so evenly taken like the earth didn’t quake?

What if people knew how to cry

Over those who die, and looked

Ahead at the world as it stood

In the future, and it wasn’t hazy at sight?

I’m asking you, what if

We could live without worry

Like a fairy tale story, but what if

We didn’t care what happened, never mourned

The dead that we should have loved forever

Down to their final breath, what if

I told you I knew something you didn’t?

What if
I said that these words were nothing but an illusion

Much like me, never to be seen, what if

I said you were and illusion too?

A ghost? A hoax?

Someone that was never truly there

And you didn’t care?

What if you looked up from my writing and the world was gone?

What if?
