Brightest Star

Brightest Star

A Poem by sam55

At the end of the day,
The sun starts to fade,
As the stars come out,
Illuminating the sky,
A daisy chain of light,
Leading you through the dark,
Millions of tiny,
Stepping stones of hope,
Suspended above our heads,
And you make a wish,
Upon a shooting star,
A fireball of burning dreams,
And you remember when we told you,
That you're momma,
Is the brightest star in the sky,
So you lay on the ground,
And point her out,
And stare at her till dawn,
When she starts to fade,
As the sun comes out,
To light up the sky,
But she'll be back tonight,
Part of a beautiful daisy chain of light.
