The Dreamer Letters ( The 3rd letter )

A Chapter by Laith N. Al Adham

Dear Starlet,

I missed you last night more than I have in a while. It was one of those nights when I needed your advice and your care.

Blackie finally decided to speak to me again and he’s not happy. He thinks I’m too hung up on your memory. How can I not be when you’re a part of what I remember from whatever life I was destined to live? Sometimes I wish I can let go of him but both you and I know it’s not an option.

“ 10 years you locked yourself to dwell in her name and yet you ask me to leave this alone? “ that’s what he says over and over again. I was 20 when you were gone but I guess for one with such fragile heart as mine it’s never enough time to let go and forget. You always knew I’d end up like this didn’t you?

I found a new place for the café. It’s PERFECT! Oh you should see it Starlet, it’s beautiful. Nothing too big and nothing too small. I can see it in my head clearly, tables all over, couches and stools. Wood all around and colors of brown and burgundy running all over the place. Frames on the walls with pieces of my writings in them. Pictures of people we love.

I can even see the people sitting there. By the window a table for 2 and 2 guys are sitting having a talk. On the big couches in the middle of the place are groups of people just laughing out loud. In the corner a table for 2 and a couple are sitting there sharing laughs and making memories. A woman walks in with her little daughter and the little girl wants some ice cream. That’s when I pick her up and have her scoop it herself. And I won’t forget the picture I took of you sipping your tea. You know I love that one and how beautiful you looked in it.

It’s time for my nightly walk now. I shall write some more soon, I promise. Hope you're well, hope you’re in joy, hope you find your calling, hope you smile a lot, hope you remember the goodness I had, hope you remember the greatness you hold. Hope you stay forever young.

Yours Truly,

Dreamer
