I was inspired by one of Phil Sanders beautiful sunrise photos to write this poem. He has kindly let me use the photo with my poem. Thank you Phil.
It's a new day finally on it's way The sky is dark and brooding with little shafts of light so soothing Here comes a tiny peek at the sunrise so meek
As dawn slowly unfolds it no longer feels cold Shimmering ribbons of gold so beautiful and bold Slivers of sunlight banish another night
The golden orb is now up high so beautiful it makes you sigh Sky filled with hues of fiery red so glorious, you can't stay in bed Absorb it all and wonder the beauty as the world goes about it's daily duty
See the path of the reflection going in the boat's direction A path right through the boat looking like a well worn coat What beauty before our eyes watching the stunning sunrise
Another excellent ode to Nature!
The sense of wonder (and almost veneration) is very well translated to the reader. Your poem also reinitiates us to the ceremonial of sunrise in a very subtle way. Yes, it is a new day, a new birth and a new hope for active persons to forge their life and destiny!
Thank you so much for giving us such beautiful images!
This is a great poem! It expresses the feel and sights of nature, which is always a good thing to have in a poem. I think that that second paragraph thing was absolutley beautiful. Heck, the whole poem was beautiful and it was just inspiring. It makes you want to think about what nature is turning into now. Pollotion, pollution, pollution. But back to a more peacful subject, this poem. I caught no spelling, grammar, or any other errors in this poem. I don't know if you were looking for those for this certain poem, but yeah. Anyways, GREAT POEM! I LOVED IT!
In my job at security I see many dawns to areciate the beauty of them that you describe here. Its good to see the mundane on a new level as you describe...
