Jan

Jan

A Poem by Sally Edwards
"

I wrote this poem for a friend who recently lost his best friend of 15 years (his dog)- RIP 17/02/08

"

Do you remember the first time
a bundle of joy came into your life
She looked at you and thought he's mine
He looks ok I think I'll stay

Look at those beautiful brown eyes
they follow you, adoration in them
you can almost hear her sighs
She was smitten with you and loved you dear

As the years passed you were like best friends
She was always there through the good and bad
Always a comfort when you were sad
Licking your face and making you glad

Today you had to say goodbye
Don't be sad, she is still here
In your heart, she still says Hi
In your memories, never fear
Jan is still your best friend.

This was remarkable! I feel that this has been the finest work that i have seen by you!
Such truth and love in these words. As i'm sure all people have lost a pet at one time or another. It is very relatable! The emotions one finds from animal companions are so strong and they run deep into our hearts. You have captured that feeling splendidly!
Awsome!

What lovely sentiment! And what a beautiful tribute to man's best friend, the keeper of all secrets and the giver of unconditional love...

This is touching! Knowing that you wrote it for a friend makes it even sweeter. Sometimes people forget that our pets are just as much part of our families as we are.
