I Never KnewA Poem by MCSajini12
years I lived a lie When
I asked, you always replied Its
brutal out there, you wouldn’t last It’s
better for you to stay, you must
But
one day I broke the chains Grabbed
my heart by the reins And
rode out to parts unknown Hoping
it would be better than all I had known
2
years in the making my present time There
were struggles, do not deny it was always fine But
something happened along the way I never knew That
I always had it in me, to fight, to stand and so I grew
Came
to know I could take on any direction Even
with little help or perception Came
to know I could stand in front of a crowd And
deliver much needed message, opening the shroud
I
stopped running that day I
started to believe things would go my way Yet
I remembered you, your echo was softly there “You
won’t make it.. So don’t you dare!”
I
proved you wrong, my dear brother I
could make it after all, I just needed to bother Take
the bull by its horns Smell
the roses, amidst the thorns
Proud
I am, yet I will never forget, not for a long time How
you came close to robbing me of all that I could accomplish and make mine! © 2016 MCSajini |
