Oh Heart.. Where Art Thou?

Oh Heart.. Where Art Thou?

A Poem by MCSajini

There once was a girl
Fun used to be her world
She skipped, she dance, she drew
From the joyful lessons she knew...

Yet something went horribly wrong
Her once happy, were now sad songs
The people around her began to fade
And she wished she had left with her father instead

Life as she knew, ceased to exist
All her love turned into a dark mist
It engulfed her, slowly and whole
Like a gloomy cloud, it took its toll
Somewhere in the dark, a lone candle lit
Deep within the labyrinth of her soul, it continued to sit
It was a glimmer of hope barely hanging on
Hoping someday she would continue her song

But she felt she no longer could feel
The warmth of that lone candle that promised to heal
She liked the darkness instead
It was her guilty pleasure, her jam and bread
For the people she knew had turned cold
Calculative, bold with hurtful words they often told

What is this life and who do I live it for?
When Im so shaken, so empty in my core?
She kept asking every single day
With no answer in sight, all she could do was pray
That someday all will be fresh and new
Like crisp cut grass, its smell an intoxicating brew
And love would once again enter her heart
Then, as once before, she would start
Sing, dance and draw
Liking and loving everything she saw…
