These Modern TimesA Poem by TodenpuhujaThese Modern Times that we are experiencing are filled with steel, plastic, competing. Apparatus of glamour, Growth with no end. Hedonism is evident; pleasure, the Trend. These Modern Times, dominated by one Race that fluently drifts towards ending its days. Of Nature and Death it has created two foes, of science their Hostile which constantly grows. These Modern Times, filled with creatures of disgust who cower behind their Ink-masks of robust. In Crystal bottles they guard their Violent stench, by wearing others only themselves they wrench. These Modern Times increased Consumption require. Serving corrupt oligarchs, wealth they acquire. Now Green is being destroyed, for green's own sake. Yet we have not asked if we are Awake. These Modern Times, the Economy of doom, nannied consumers not noticing their gloom. With drunken tongues they prove their obedience demanding: "More!", retaining Convenience. These Modern Times, true Perfection as they are, a reform struggle cannot be seen from afar. Satisfied with life in delirious bliss, It would be foolish to consider a Hiss. These Modern Times, O, I wish for them to cease. Come crashing down, die of their own fatal Disease. Thinking about men unaware of the Past, I wait for Ragnarök to begin - at last.
