A Story by Kevin Mulqueen
"

I wrote this as a model for my students. Their task was to write about a peak experience within 100 words. I tried to be as concise and cogent as possible.

Giza Sunrise

Tipsy and reckless that night, we bribe the guards to let us up. Giant steps lead to the apex, from where we behold the vast shimmering sleeping creature that is Cairo. Spellbound we sit till daybreak. A thousand mosques praise Allah as we clamber down from the Great Pyramid.

Great advert for Egypt. "Spellbound we sit till daybreak" - so not even tiredness can break the spell.
This poem makes you want to go to Egypt, and it's capital city Cairo.
