A Poem by Matthew L. Arcelay

stories told inlaid with ice
tragedies only in memory
in remembering i see your sight
behind fractured glasses
moments relapse into vibrations
incantations with wet embraces
beads of rosary amids twisted faces
hymn in cadence begone D aville
tears river engulf what in me you see
overlooked the suns east
dawn a thousand miles to the west
in it an easy breath
similes end at the crest
for each child wears down his sole
to build himself whole
candles burnt down with prayers
given without care or caution do more harm
than a thousand stabs in the dark
take my coat of arms
smelt it and reforge my identity
with one ring bond to my heart
eternal fire
