fade

fade

A Poem by Matthew L. Arcelay

fade out fade in fading ...

solemnly soulful hopeful no mo'
remember how the tendons tore
bent back my limbs in the rain

trying to find change .. in pace in hope in body in mind
listening to cracks in time
listening to the hymns of memory
maybe just listening for anything

what was it bout the way the sky cried
felt like tears so warm trying to wash pain clean
keeping me from becoming cold again
keeping my faith true
when i was faithless

so test
no rest
worthless

go on go fourth, just go
for now it's how the soul bows
solo ....

awful how one voice sounds like many
and many sound like one
but not one can be heard in the roar of a thousand
pounding
pound in
pounding
heartbeats ground in
sprinkled lightly like condiments at supper time

hoping to catch the moment
and savor a lifetime
