insomnia's teasing wayz

insomnia's teasing wayz

A Poem by Matthew L. Arcelay

jarred awake by the sound of thunder
rumblings in waves short breaths
its like i've been talking for days
my own image by the bedside telling me everything is ok
LIAR!
why do i toss and turn
burn without fire
strugling to understand this that i am
clasping my hand over insomnias bite
bleeding memories faded from view
while sorrow becomes my base identity
dancing that fine line of sanity teetering
