Chapter 7: Letters

 

Dear Ellie,                                                  June 16

                  It’s crazy to think I’ve only been gone for a few days, and I already miss you so much.  I promise that next time I will bring you with me.  Greece is beautiful though I know it would be better with you.  For the next few days, I’ll continue to be stationed here working with the Elders before I go to Russia for my mission, which I will tell you all about when I return home.

I hope the wedding plans are going well and that Stacie is not driving you too crazy.  She is a miracle worker when it comes to these things, as well as, having the tendency to overdue things if you remember Addie’s wedding.  But, if she bothers you too much it will only take one phone call for her to back off a bit.  Enjoy my time away to do something crazy, and let Aden and Stacie take you out. 

Every day I miss you more than the last.  I love you, and I’ll see you soon.

July 21

James,                                                                                         

         Wedding plans have been going right on schedule in fact I think we finally set on a date, which will be exactly one year from today.  Everything turned out wonderfully: a beautiful floral wedding, as Stacie puts it, at our church followed by a lovely reception back at the house.  Small and intimate is what I requested, but we both know it will not happen that way.  But, don’t go calling and yelling at her because she has been doing a wonderful job as well as keeping me sane.  As for going out, I have been going out just enough with cake tasting, wedding dress shopping, flower shopping, and food tasting, which is all much more fun than I thought it would be.

Greece sounds wonderful—by the way the honeymoon location is still on the table since I figured you would want to choose that—and I can’t wait to one day see it.  Please be careful on your mission whatever you may do please remember to come home.  I miss you entirely too much.  I love you.  Come home to me.

                  My dear I’ll be home soon.  In a few days time, I’ll be flying to Russia, and at that time I will be out of contact for no more than a month and then I shall return home to you.  We are finalizing the details today, but I will write you once more before I leave.  I love you.

       I’m happy to hear that our time left apart is short.  It fills me with such joy that I’ll be holding you in my arms soon enough.  The whole world could never keep me from you and I know no matter what the future has in store for us we will be together soon.  I will wait for you at our spot on the beach.  I love you.
