High school

High school
A constant stream of drama
Pain
Back stabbing

I ran as far away from that as possible
I never looked behind me
I thought I had escaped
I kept myself as far away as I could

I stayed away from those girls
Who spoke wonderful words to you
And the second you turn around
They are spreading lies and stabbing you in the back

I had gone through it all
The lies
The rumors
The betrayal

I had all of it
It nearly killed me
So I ran away
But something pulled me backwards

Here I am once more
Feeling like that sad 10 year old
Crying because of the lies
And the back stabbing

I ran away from those girls
Who teased those who didn't have all that they did
Who said everything you wanted to hear
And then hit you where it hurts the most

I thought I was done with it all
I stayed out of their way
I never talked much to them
I never gave them anything to talk about

And yet I find myself befriending
The girls who hurt me the most
The girls I hate the most
The people who I ran so far away from

I hate high school
Because no matter how far you run
It will always catch up to you
No matter how far you run...

I am a Junior in high school and I am finding myself stuck in the mindless drama when I have already gone through it all and thought I was free of it all

Life is a big drama, you get through one and soon the next drama starts.
Be patient, learn from it, and try to enjoy being in high school. Once it's over you won't get to go back and enjoy this period of life again. So, no matter what happens try to find the joy high school brings and stay away of unworthy people.

Sarah it's part of growing and learning who you are I suspect. It gets better and it doesn't. There will always be girls like that, but the adversity makes you stronger in the long run :). I was always on the fringes, the watcher. I still am I guess, but I'm comfortable with myself now. I don't think I was back then . . . way back in the early 80's ;P

I learn from my life. Don't allow the fool's to ruin your day. I use to add to the stories so the foolish people would leave me alone. If they want a story. Give them a better one. Can't allow the small people with nothing to do to mess up a day. Better to screw them up. Just smile and don't pay attention. Thank you for a excellent poem. I have told many people. "Wise people don't need to discuss other folks life. People with empty lives need to discuss and downgrade others. You must be hiding some dirt ?" Have fun and be safe.
