Mysterious man was he

Mysterious man was he

A Poem by sarah

Mysterious man was he
Black hat
Black coat

Everyone who met him
Couldn't help but feel
Uneasy in his presence

Mysterious man was he
Cold eyes
Cold heart

Everyone felt quite troubled
Whenever he entered a room
The feeling remained even after he left

Mysterious man was he
Blood shot eyes
And trembling hands

But under everything
Quite beautiful was he
Indeed quite handsome

Dark hair
Brown eyes
Broad shoulders

Mysterious man was he
Mr. Dorian Gray

Dark past had he
Blood on his hands
His dark past follows him wherever he looks

Yes indeed he sold his soul to the devil
To be young
And beautiful forever

Mysterious but beautiful man was he
But lost
And broken

He has a price to pay
And indeed
The devil will come calling

You are growing as a writer with each poem, this is different from much of your work, evocative and powerful, you artfully managed to project the sense of fesr and dread he left behind.
One tiny criticism,In "sold his soul to the devil", sold is misspelled, it has no "e".
Excellent work. Keep writing.

I couldn't finish the movie you're referring to; it tore Oscar Wilde's story apart. I really love "The Picture of Dorian Gray" though, and I respect this piece on the character. I think it's missing some depth, perhaps some lines on Dorian before that fatal day at Basil's; before he become a horrid being. I love the last lines: "He has a price to pay And indeed The devil will come calling"- this is the sum of Dorian Gray.

Well written and descriptive poem, Dorian Grey and the Ancient Marriner have much in common

Read the book sometime. Dorian was a haunted man to be sure. This reads well.

I have never seen the movie, but I think you paint a pretty vivid image of this man. Dark and mysterious. Nice!

I don't know who Dorian Gray is, but I still enjoy this poem. Very good and descriptive. This would be a gothic piece.
