Not good enough

Not good enough

A Poem by sarah

Why is it different for her?
Why can she shout her love for you
And have everyones approval?

Why can she proclaim her feelings
Wherever she wants
And get a pat on the shoulder?

Why can she tell you she loves you
And you hold her
And say it in return?

Why do they approve of her?
And not me?

I gave you everything of me
I did everything I could
I tried to do things right

You wanted to be quiet about the two of us
You wanted the secrets
You never proclaimed your affections for me

And in the end
You pushed me aside
And walked away without looking over your shoulder
Just once...

I sit on the side
Close to moving on
My wounds almost healed

But then I see you
Screaming your love for her
Telling the world

Why didn't you do that with me?
Why is she allowed to love you in the open
Without judgment?

Why?
Why wasn't I good enough?
Good enough for you
Good enough for any of them?

WHY?!?!?!

Why.........?

I cried while I wrote this, it may not be my best but you can sure say a lot of emotion went into this. My ex's new girlfriend is posting everywhere how much she likes him how wonderful he is and he is saying how cute and awsome she is but when we were together we weren't even allowed to have the same facebook picture of him and me sitting together.

I may say this alot of heart-wrenching poems such as this one but GUYS can be such IDIOTIC, DISILLUSIONED B******S sometimes.
They're unable to see the best things that ever happened to them and end up throwing them away. It's like trading Chocolate milk for Soy milk. No offense to those who prefer Soy milk.
Yes I know that not all guys are like this, but most of them are, and if you do meet a good one, he's either gay or taken.
But there's hope my friend, there always is. Make new friends, the love of your life might be the shy kid in your Science class.
And, speaking from experience, son't spend all your time thinking about him. Go out with friends, enjoy some ice-cream. Then one day, whenever that day may be, sit and reminisce. Think about all the good times. Get the closure you need. And you'll be able to move on, if you haven't already.
And I forgot to add this because of my advice and slight rant, this poem was one of the most amazing pieces of literature I have ever read. And that is definitely saying something.

This poem just adds to the boy topic. 98% of boys are B******S WHO TAKE US FOR GRANTED. The other 2% they're invisible.! So if you're trying to find a nice guy and not the JERK you dated before, open the eyes wider and be open-minded about anything. Okay.? You're poem was AMAZINGLY BRILLIANT.!

Good expressive poem about your feelings. Sincerely, Muriel
A side note: Guys like that are never worth it to be with! I am sure that new girlfriend will soon see that, too! Keep taking good care of you! I have a favorite quote I will share with you that reminded me of your writing here and may be helpful: Remove those 'I want you to like me' stickers from your forehead and, instead, place them where they truly will do the most good --
on your mirror!

Very Sad Sarah I hope you get over this soon.
I hate to see someone so sad.
The song again fit perfect.

Aww, this is sad… I like it though; it's a great poem.

If he's that way, just ignore him. He isn't worth you time or tears.

oh god! Thats so touching, I understand, theres LOTS of emotions inside, I agree, guys can be such a idiot sometimes, but theres no need for you to worry! He is not worthy for you, adnt hats all! Many guys just dont know they miss lots of good things, and they will regret for you, no need to be sad.
I agree with Cooki-Eater, make some new friends, that will make you recover quickly.
Thats a powerful poem, nice job!

Yes we can be idiotic, b******s. Not all of us, but most of us. Good work on this one. It was very emotional and deeply saddening.

Pros: Emotional poems like this are always good because they are an outpouring of the heart, which is all good poetry really is. No rhyme scheme here, but it flows easily without it. Usually, thoughts, like those, flow really well. The idea behind it is quite emotional and those emotions come through in your words and lines. I sense frustration, sorrow, and confusion. A good combination.

Cons: None.

Overall: I liked this poem. The emotions come through really well, and help convey your message. Good job :) Sorry you had to go through a relationship like this. They're never fun.
