A missed moment

A missed moment

A Poem by sarah

I watched him
From a distance
I wondered if he noticed
That I loved him

I watched her
From a distance
I wonder if she realized
That I loved her

I smiled up at him
But tried not to give to much away
I laughed at his jokes
But kept a safe distance away

I smiled down at her
But kept her at arms length
I sat next to her
But never looked directly at her

My heart pounded hard
And fast
Whenever he walked into a room

I couldn't help but smile
When she picked me out of a crowed room
And walked over just speak to me

So many times I tried
To tell him
To explain to him
That I loved him

I tried so hard
To tell her
To get her to understand
That I loved her

But when I got the courage
To tell him
He was already with someone else

When I finally felt ready
To tell her
She had already moved on to someone else

I missed my chance with him...

I missed my chance with her...

We missed our moment
But sometimes I catch
Him watching me

We missed our chance
But sometimes I see her
Smiling at me

She will always hold my heart

And he will always hold mine....

Sorry if this is confusing, it is kind of a new style. Something I think about is that I will miss my moment with the guy i'm meant to be with. So I wrote this :-)

Love is rough, isn't it? Sometimes I just want to give up on it, throw in the towel because the pain isn't worth it. But, it is worth it, I suppose.

I've missed moments before, and now I look back and regret being so quiet and simply smiling. But, what happens is for a reason. Whatever moment we gave up just gave us a chance at a new one.

But, I like this poem, as well as it's style. Good job :)

Very nicely done with emotions.. this is like bittersweet hindsight for both? One can never know and it's best to keep moving along and focusing on new endeavors. When this happens (which is rarer these days), I find myself wondering if I am with the right person. Then I realize that maybe I am not giving 100% to the person I am with if this ponderance arises too frequently. Better to not dwell on the "what if's" though your poem really encapsules that two second guess of a missed moment for me.. which is better kept as a great memory or positive stepping stone in the dating world. Beautifully written.
