I will come back to you

I will come back to you

A Poem by sarah

She loved him
So much
He held her heart and soul

She knew she could lose him
She took the chance
She loved him

He was a soldier
Defending his country was the most important thing
His heart belonged to the military

She wrapped her arms around him
Holding him as tight as she could
And for as long as she could

He held her
Hoping she would understand
He had to go

She watched him walk away from her
He stood tall and proud
His head was held high

Tears streamed from her eyes
As he walked proudly
He stopped

And for a moment he stood still
She held her breath
He then looked over his shoulder

And said
"I will come back to you"

Ok please be nice I really wanted to write something like this but it's really really hard to do, no one can really say what a woman feels being in love with a solider. Please give as much positive feedback as possible

Actually, I know exactly what a woman feels loving a soldier and sending into a war. You described it pretty well, you try really hard to be brave and not let him see you cry, and it is hard. My soldier has never come home, he was declared dead but his remains have never been found.
I had to go back and think of when he left, so much ope, so many dreams, and you try to not let him see the fear of losing him in your eyes.
You' ve got the right idea.

i think this is a very good description of that, it breaks my heart just reading it. war comes with so much heartbreak, sadness, ugliness.... not a good thing.

Great write. You really expressed it well enough so that emotion really shone through.

You did well. It is a commitment for the woman to love a soldier as it is for him bound to do his duty.

A Soldier wife is a hard life. I was in the Army for 15 years. Woman must run the family and try to think positive when the soldiers are in harms ways. A very difficult thing to do. A very good poem. I didn't want my wife or children at the deployment departure. It was too hard and sad to leave them waiting in a parking lot as the last moment together. A excellent poem.
