Open book

Open book

A Poem by sarah

I am an open book
I will tell you what you need to know
I sit on a shelf waiting to be read

Waiting for someone to take interest in me
Someone to take me off this shelf
Waiting to tell them all about what waits inside me

I sit waiting
Waiting for someone to notice me
Notice my unique cover

I wait for someone to pick me
Out of all the other books around me
The brighter colored books

I sit on this shelf waiting
Waiting for someone to read my pages
Waiting for someone to take an interest in me

I am just an open book
Waiting
For someone to simply notice me

Aww, nice! An interesting and deep metaphor written in a really simple and effective way. In a way, I would have liked to have seen you explore your ideas a little bit more, as there were moments where I felt that you were repeating some of your ideas. In saying that though, I thought that this was full of truth, and an idea that a lot of people will be able to relate to. :)

I like the logic of this poem. I landed in Germany(A long time ago). No-one notice me in my life at eighteen. I found people who came to me and I found purpose for my life. Sometime we fall into the pack and can go un-notice in the same place and surrounding. One day you will wander away and people will see you. I like the ending. I like the term "A open book."

i like this piece very much. It has a consistent theme and each stanza relates. The lines follow a patterned thought process. The ideas build logically...Yes, I am an engineer! LOL Not really, but I like orderly sometimes. I also like the enticing flow to this...I want to open you, read your pages, experience your story...it invites nicely!

Well it speaks for itself, everyone wants to be notices, but sometimes is over looked!

I wrote a similar piece called Read Me..we are a blank manuscript always being written and rewritten, as we change the story of us, develop our characters and the plots..well written

I see this as a perfect metophor, where a person waits for somebody to talk to them, not much on the outside, but with so much to offer! Great writing.

Um, hate to say it, but get off the shelf,,, don't let people have to come to you, book, go to them! Otherwise, time after time, you will be overlooked, and that isn't something that should happen =) xx
