Is it wrong?

Is it wrong?

A Poem by sarah

Is it wrong of me
To like talking to you?
To laugh at your jokes?

I have been mad at you for so long
And I have yet to forgive you completely
My heart still aches when I think of the past

But when we talk
Just like friends
Like we used to

I can't help but feel happy
At ease
Comfortable

Past wrongs vanish
Past tears fade away
The sting leaves my heart

Is it wrong of me?
To feel comfort?
To feel like things will be better?

You know me
Better then almost everyone
You were once the keeper of my heart

So am I wrong for liking your smile?
For liking the sound of your laugh?
For enjoying your company?

Sometimes it feels wrong
Like to much has happened
That all hope of friendship is gone

But I can't change the past
I can't go back in time
And change what you did to me

But maybe
There is a chance
That we may be able to be friends
Someday...

Author's Note

sarah
I have to see my ex a lot and I realized that when we aren't fighting or ignoring each other I like talking to him, when we are talking like friends. And sometimes that feels wrong of me, to enjoy his company. But maybe over time the past will fade and we will be able to manage a friendship but a lot of time has to past

I think it more wrong not to like his company. Just because you not together - you liked him enough at one time to have a relationship, so its understandable if you can get past the heartache and forgive that you would be able to chat and enjoy each others company..

this is a very insightful. i like the way u seem to question whether u should 'do this or that'-
very thoughtful-but at the end of it all the last verse says everything;

"But maybe
There is a chance
That we may be able to be friends
Someday..."

anyway-u can never go back to the way things were-
oh-damn!!!
i sound like Dr. Phill (ouch)--shoot me-lol :)

Sarah, I like the journey with your mind questioning your choice to drop this person who has harmed you once. Could you be warming him toward you. Many men, like snakes, can sting you more than once. Your conversations with him encourage a boy who has bad intent. I loved the way you allow your mind to play with the words, progressively showing expansion. Please consider. My advice, call the police. I am so happy about the growth of your poetic vision.

I think you should use caution, unless you are truly over him and have healed enough maybe it is enough to just forgive him in your heart and keep your distance for a while before you hangout with him as friends. The no contact rule is the best way to get over someone, otherwise you just continue to ping pong back and forth.

I like Mr. Miller's advice make sure you are your own center of the universe.

Lovely poem.

Time weaken all pain. Sometime if you have a big heart. Willing to forgive and become friends is possible. I like this poem. You told a good story and told of someone trying to re-open doors with cautions. A excellent poem.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying his company. One of the thingd the years have taught me is when we let someone else be the center of OUR universe, we will be hurt. Each of us must remain at the center of our universe, then universes can overlap and we can have a wonderful friendship or sometimes even love. Even your children will benefit if you remain the your self center; this will help them grow to be great people capable of good, strong relationships. A universe with no center spins out of control and people get hurt.
