Goodbye pain

Goodbye pain

A Poem by sarah

As a child romance was a far off wonder

It was almost like magic

Magic that I would never know

And then as time went on

And I grew

Romance seemed even farther then before

It was a far off dream

A myth

And then you came along

And that changed

It was different

And unexpected

You change me

You made me better

You made me smile when I wanted to cry

You listened to me even when I sounded crazy

But soon there was a part of romance I had forgotten

The heart break...

I had never learned about the heart break

And so I was not prepared

I didn't know how to handle it

without breaking compleatly

The dream of romance soon vanished again

It became a distent dream again

So far away I couldn't see it anymore

But the pain didn't vanish

The pain ate away at me

It stayed longer then you did

It made me forget all good

And now I see you

And I no longer want romance

Because the pain lasts longer then the joy

Goodbye far off dream

Goodbye romance

Goodbye pain

Hey I can't help but notice your ending sounds vaguely familiar with one of my recent poems..The fun thing is you wrote this on Sept. And I in Jan. And you published after me..How we writers are alike...the thoughts that is..another example..

Good write..the concept not old..but I like the honest, straight from heart writing here..Enjoyed it..

Romance seemed even farther then before

I think that line stood out for me the most. the idea of romance becoming more sought after as one grows up, almost like you wait to reach a destinable age to attain in, only to find that you still have to search for it. Great ideas here! I love how you direct the piece to someone in particular, my most personal writing I express in a similar manner. Keep writing! :)

When pain and misery stole away love and desire. Very hard to rebirth. The poem told a real story with a true ending. Hard to repair a broken heart and regain trust of someone. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

Great job. Seems to me, the pain is waning in this poem.
