someday

someday

A Poem by sarah

you told me you would always be there

you promised me you wouldn't break me

you swore you would protect my heart

but all you did was stand there and watch

you watched me scream and cry

you watched as they tore me to shreds

you didn't care...

the world started moving in slow motion

no one noticed me not even you

I started walking alone

you hurt me more than anyone else could

and you didn't even care

you thought a fake apology would put me at ease

why?

so that the guilt wouldn't get to much for you to take?

I want the guilt to get to much for you

I want you to understand what I felt

I want you to see the tear stains that are on my heart

and then it will be my turn to stand there

I will get to stand there and not flinch at your pain

it will be my turn

someday....

I'm guessing that you wrote this when you were still experimenting with writing. Though you accuse this person of fake apologies, the idea of ''everyone else tearing you to shreds" almost makes the reader feel like you yourself have set a target on this one person to drop all the blame for your hurt on. I'm loving your writing so far, because it really makes me sit up and think! Your concepts are so raw and inspired and just bring out basic, untamed human emotion so well. Keep writing!

A strong point was made in your poem. People who run away when we need them. They are not true friends. I don't believe in revenge. I believe karma is a fair judge. The good or bad will come back to us in the end. A very strong ending to the excellent poem.

Old or new, it doesn't matter, it's still bloody brilliant either way. That last line was just amazing, really adds depth to the poem and seems to draw it out too - fantastic! Keep up the good work!~
