Snowflakes

Snowflakes fell from the sky that day.
A frosty swirl of white,
Frozen, just like my heart.
So intricately carved,
They sat on her skin,
Too pale and cold,
They could not melt away.

Instead they came to rest, with her
On her bed, in the place
That brought so many tears.
Heaven's gained an angel.

Even after all these years,
Of her being gone,
Of still living on,
I will always remember,
That snowflakes fell from the sky that day.

I've never wrote a poem like this before. It's a little rough around the edges. If you have any suggestions to make it better please comment.

hmm well I can easily see this becoming an actual story xD this would actually be a great opening, it grabbed my attention and makes me wonder what is going to happen and what happened before this day that the snow fell. D: I wanna know more lol

This poem has fond memories and such painful loss. I would treasure a piece like this forever for it was personal and sincere. Even though the pain seemed all too real I felt the warmth during the cold snow day, the warmth of the poetess's heart.
