differencesA Poem by Sadbhfree-verse poem.We are not magic, you and I. Nor are we magnetic. Your kisses Do not blow me away, Your touch always too hesitant. While I crave the unforgiving wave of passion, You prefer to be gentle. Your hands stay on my waist while my fingers roam your body Your lips stay firmly on mine while I make failed attempts to kiss your neck ("It's ticklish" you say, reprimanding me but apparently all I want is to be tickled.) And while you leave me selfishly wanting, You always somehow make up for it. Your smile mere millimetres away from my face, a joke Only shared when we are both starry-eyed and blushing. You consistently bending down to greet me at eye level, A laugh barely contained at my faux outrage. You, encircling my waist with your arm when we are among friends, whispering into my hair That you think i look gorgeous. I will settle for us not being magic. The ethereal and elemental relationships of this world Are for those who tower and thunder above us. But I think I would prefer to float down The trenches of the Atlantic with you. Alone In our own little bubble. While we may be lacking in passion Our private, quiet and unique affection Is something I want to hold onto forever.
